Greater Wilmington Adventist Community Services (G.W.A.C.S.)
.

The Greater Wilmington Adventist Community Services (GWACS) is a faith-based organization that is focused on reducing pain and suffering in a number of ways to people in need in the greater Wilmington area.  GWACS is committed to helping people regain their independence in their time of need.

Currently, the GWACS center at 1607 Todds Lane in Wilmington, Delaware, is engaged in the distribution of food and clothes to children and their families.  The average number of families served each week is one hundred and sixty five, and is continually growing.  A recent audit by the Food Bank of Delaware gave our center the highest possible ratings in all categories.  The GWACS homeless ministry has been active since January 2006. Monthly, utilizing youth groups, and young adults, we distribute clothes, toiletries, and a lunch near the Amtrak train station.  GWACS is also offering mentorship to youth in after-care programs.

Volunteers and their commitment is the present and the future of this 501C3 certified non-profit organization. We welcome those who would like to assist in our present initiatives, and invite those with a passion to fill a need that we are not presently serving.
